Norfolk is home to many award-winning and simply outstanding restaurants. When enjoying one of our UK getaways, we recommend any of these fantastic cafés or restaurants to try, where you can sample the best local produce and the best quality food in the area.
The White Horse Restaurant, Brancaster Staithe
One of the best places to dine at in the area, this 3-star, 2 AA Rosette Inn has previously been named one of the best gastro pubs in the whole of the UK. Close by to an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with views of beaches and tidal marshes, the location alone is enough reason to visit.
The menu hosts a range of fresh, local cuisine, with a special seafood influence. There is something for everyone with child-friendly food and vegetarian dishes. Using seasonal foods, The White Horse will give you the best of the best.
Pretty Corner Café & Tea Gardens, Sheringham
For decades, this place has been known as a beautiful spot, as its name suggests. First opened in 1926, the place was known for the award winning homemade chocolate and sweets it served. Still hugely popular today, the woodland setting of the café is perfect for walkers, cyclists, families and other holidaymakers passing by.
The Pretty Corner Café uses fresh and locally sourced ingredients across their menu, which supports the local farmers. The lunch menu offers a range of sandwiches, salads and jacket potatoes as well as some delicious homemade cakes. As expected from a tea garden, there is also a wide range of speciality teas to try.
The Grove, Cromer
If you want to sample the delicious and famous Cromer Crab on your holidays, we suggest The Grove. The vegetables are sourced right from the garden, and the 2 AA Rosette restaurant also brings in its dairy, fish and meat from local suppliers.
It is not just the delicious food you can try, as the restaurant is set in a Georgian country house, and after you have finished your meal, you can take a wander through the spectacular gardens along a cliff top walk through Warren Woods.
Eric’s Fish and Chips, Thornham
This list wouldn’t be complete without a fish and chip restaurant. There are many great places across Norfolk where you can get some quality fish and chips but one of the best has to be Eric’s Fish and Chips in Thornham.
The classic menu uses seasonal, local produce, championing British farmers and fishermen, and is a great place to bring the kids for a treat, to either eat in or take away. The picturesque coast is the perfect backdrop for eating al-fresco in the summer.
