With half-term over, you may be searching through the internet for your next UK getaway, and we definitely think that Norfolk should be at the top of your list. Many escape to Norfolk to leave the grind of everyday life behind them, for fresh air and fun. In Norfolk there is a beautiful, thriving town called North Walsham which is only down the road from our Rainbows End park. Take a look at our five things to do whilst holidaying to the beautiful part of Norfolk to see for yourself.

1 – Visit the Norfolk Motorcycle Museum

If you’re just mad about motorbikes, this museum is the perfect place to visit. It is currently displaying 160 classic motorcycles from the 1920’s to 1980’s from Britain, America, Europe and Japan. This exhibit is truly a treasure trove for petrol heads. The museum is about 25 years old, and houses mopeds, bicycles, and is a great place to spend a couple of hours.

2 – A walk in the woods

Only a mile and a half away from the town centre lies Pigneys Wood. It is owned by The North Norfolk Community Woodland trust, and volunteers work at the woods to ensure its beauty stays forever. The woods are an enchanting blend of mature woodland, new woodland, open ground and grassland, which serves as a haven for wildlife. There is also a 450-year-old oak tree, which is used as a platform for children to examine pond life.

3 – Bewilderwood

A great attraction for all ages, is Bewilderwood. This award-winning outdoor adventure attraction has zip wires, jungle bridges, tree houses and marsh walks. It is set within 50 acres of land and there is plenty to keep yourself and family busy all day.

4 - Davenport's Magic Kingdom

Another attraction which is great for your children to enjoy is Davenport's Magic Kingdom. This magical place holds a collection of vintage magic memorabilia, and is filled with fun things to do. There is an interactive exhibition which takes visitors on a journey though the history of British magic, a theatre and a shop; as well as lots of vintage posters, stage sets, Punch and Judy boxes, the famous prop used to saw winsome ladies in half, ventriloquists’ dummies, a headless lady, a plant with teeth, Houdini’s water torture cell.

5 – The seaside

A few minutes down the road lies the coast, which is filled which beautiful sandy beaches. These beaches make for a great day out with the family, come rain or shine. You can breathe in the fresh sea air, whilst relaxing in Norfolk’s tranquil ambience. Take a walk on the unspoilt sand, where your children can build sandcastles, play games, have a picnic and paddle in the shallow surf. We recommend visiting Mundsley, as this beach has a particularly traditional appeal to it. There are facilities on the cliffs, so try to stock up before heading down the steps to the beach.

Norfolk has been a popular holiday destination for many years, and it serves as the perfect backdrop for a family holiday, through all the seasons. Not only is Norfolk diverse, it also has some of the most beautiful coastline and landscapes in the world. Don’t forgot to take a boat ride on the Norfolk Broads, where there are over 125 miles of navigable, lock-free waterways set in the beautiful countryside, with many picturesque towns and villages to see on your travels.

There is always plenty going on, and it is always hard to narrow down the best attractions throughout this region, so let us know on our social media platforms which ones are your favourites!
